Re: Do racoons attack?

lmao at skunks! My neighbor is taking a nap on his couch one evening, kinda dozing in and out. His kitty cat is up on his chest, kneading him with the claws like cats do in a friendly way just before they lay down to sleep. He wakes up the rest of the way only to realize it ain't kitty on his chest kneading! Its a skunk! left the screen door open!
He panics, the skunk panics, and runs back out the door. No spray from the skunk thankfully

Re: Do racoons attack?

hey crabby i know what you mean.

Yes they will attack, mainly when cornered. found this out the hard way. was coon hunting about 4 years ago with my cousins. had this coon up at tree. it was my turn to go up and kick it out. it was a the biggest cedar tree i had seen. and you know what the coon was all the way at the top. the whole bottom of the tree was entangled in briars. about half the way up, my light burns out. wanted to come down but they talked me into continuing on up. they shine their lights as i continue. finally i make it to the top. i saw the coon, it wasn't a big one so i did not think nothing of it, at first. as i started to shake the limb it was on, it strted to growl. never had that happen before. most just make a jump for it. i turned around and ask my cousin if he thought it might be rabid or sick, he said that he had them do that before, that i should just shake harder. as i turn around to proceed, the coon decided that it had enuff. it jump toward me and grabbed ahold of the leg of my overalls. it started to growl, bite, shake and basically be a pain in my b#tt. finally after numerous attempts to kick it off, it proceeds to climb up my leg. after this i decided that was enuff. i grabbed its tail and pulled as hard as i could. it was going to let go or lose its tail. after it let go and tried to turn on my hand i tossed it.
the whole ordeal makes me think twice about climbing a tree to do it again. but then the excitement overcomes that and i will always do it.

but yes they will attacked, especially when provoked.
