I was talking to a boat Mechanic and he said that I didn't need to have an anti Siphon valve and that I can remove it. Can anyone give me some feed back on this

Thanks

Can be removed, but only if the carb(s) is above the discharge of the fuel tank. It can be 'fixed' by driving the ball out. It's there to prevent siphoning of fuel from tank if you get a line break, etc. If the external fuel system is above, obviously it can't siphon.
