The compression test i carried out last season at the lower unit of my pre-alpha outdrive(MCM228) showed no leak, however the milky oil leads me now to the shaft which is worn from the seals of the lower unit of the impeller housing.I don't want to invest money on such an old outdrive ,so may you tell me if you repair your shafts with succes?

ya might get away with a speedy sleeve. i had wear on the drive shaft from the bottom seal in the upper.... as far as i know, i was successful with the speedy sleeve, though the drive was not in service long after the repair as many other things went wrong with that boat...
have you pressure tested it again to see where the leak is at?

That's the problem.I think the compression test doesn't find faulty parts that change their stability when warm up like seals.

if you got milk for lub. i'd think there's a noticeable leak somewhere weather warm or cool. if the drive shaft is worn at the water pump base seal, that might be suspect. maybe you could pressure test the lower w/o the waterpump housing on and spray some soapy water at that seal while under pressure.... see if ya get any bubbles...
i'd look into a speedy sleeve. but i must say. that'd be a long drive to get the speedy sleeve in place.. maybe it's sei lower time??????

When you have the 10 lbs of air in the drive did you play with the shift shaft and hear air escape??
