does anyone know how to hook up a trim gauge

1981 mercruiser 120 i already went though 2 props in the past 3 weeks. boat came with a trim but its not hook up??? there is also a small button next to the shifter anyone knows what it is?

The wiring is fairly straightforward... IF your trim sender and wiring is good on the outdrive itself. Many times it is mssing and/or damaged. You need to look at that before worrying about the wiring in the boat at the gauge.

The button on your shifter - is it the trailer button you are referring to perhaps?

The little button next to the shifter in the picture IS the trailering button.
You said "the boat came with a trim but it's not hooked up."
Are you saying you can't lift or lower your drive with the thumb switch on your shift lever?

If you`ve busted up 2 props I`d look into a depth gauge
