Does evenrude lower units work with chryslers?

Just curious if I should take a drive to see if they match up. I have a 55 hp 74 modle i think. Thanks

Last year I replaced my cracked LU on my'70 55hp with a '67 35hp LU. I was told by Ken of Discount Marine in Port Byron , NY that 35-55 Chrysler LU are pretty much interchangeable. Seems to be working for me anyway.
