Does the remote shift cable need adjusted?

I have an Alpha 1 Gen 2. Recently replace the shift cable to the outdrive because I was replacing bellows but everything was working fine. I did not touch the remote shift cable to the throttle. Do I need to make any other adjustments other than the lower shift cable?

Thanks

Yes. Watch the video in the stickies... The full procedure is there.

Thanks achris. The video is very good. After I set the pin to the lowest position and adjust the shift cable to 6" and then adjust the remote shift cable, do you only start moving the shift cable pin up if there are issues getting into reverse?

That's what I said in the video, yes...

I was just wondering if there was a step where you remove the shift cable again, lock the outdrive in reverse, and then set the anchor pin per the length of the shift cable to get it close...

Thanks again!

no

you adjust the shift cable in forward to 6" then attach it - there is no other adjustment needed on that cable

if you can't get reverse you can adjust the stud in the slot up, otherwise you can adjust the remote cable to better achieve reverse - just make sure you still have forward, or you may need a new remote cable or have an issue in the drive
