Does the transom assembly need retorqued

Due to the nature of wood to compress, do the 8 nuts holding the transom assembly though the transom to the gimble housing need to be checked and retightened? If so, it looks like I'll be lucky to get an end wrench on those nuts, much less a torque wrench. I would have to tighten most of them by feel. 22.5 ft. lbs. is not a lot. I found a flat washer on the top right stud that is loose enough to be moved by hand. This transom is 2" of rosin coated plywood inside of an aluminum transom. I had this transom replaced spring a year ago. The shop laminated 4 pieces of 1/2" plywood to build the 2" piece. I found the loose washer while trying to clean the bilge to get a 4" crack where the transom meets the bottom repaired. Thanks, Cliff

I rebuilt my transom and had to re-tighten the mounting bolts on the plate a couple of times. Be sure to follow the tightening sequence. If you cant get a torque wrench in there, do it by feel. ( my engine was out....). Its normal to get some compression with wood.
