Thanks to Rodbolt I am now aware that I may have water in the water trap in my 93 115 Yammy. I have unbolted it from the engine however getting the tranparent plastic base of the head of the filter is proving difficult - does it just unscrew anti-clockwise (ie might have to use CRC or similar to assist)? I have a proper fuel filter and trap in the boat so I might remove it altogether.

Re: does the water trap simply unscrew

hello
dude
I am going out on a limb here. I am going to assume the engine fuel filter on your engine is the same as engines here in the states. yes that filter just unscrews. yes sometimes I have to use channel lock pliers on them. dont lose the oring or you will have to buy another. the element is cleanable and reusable. while holding the filter in your left hand in its normal mounting orientaion the filter housing spins clockwise to remove and counter clockwise to tighten. it has a standard right hand pitch thread. lefty loosey righty tighty.
good luck and keep posting
