My 1988 johnson V6 150 hp seems to have some type of fuel problem. when i first hit the lake runs great for a few minutes then bogs down and would usually restart but would not run much more than an idle. Replaced plugs and fuel line and bulb. still having the same problem. And when you pump up the bulb it just doesn't feel right never really seem to pump up and get hard. sometimes when it dies the ball seems to be sucked in. Any and all help would be apprecciated. Thanks

The fact that the ball is sometimes "sucked in" indicates that you have a restrition/partial blockage in the fuel pick up or that the tank is not venting

Maybe the pick up in the tank is blocked.

Try taking the cap off the tank. If that cures it the tank is not venting. It's a vented cap according to the parts list

Are you opening the vent on the gas tank?

If you have a built-in tank, start by running on a portable tank with a different primer bulb and hose - that will let you know if your problem is limited to the tank, primer and hose.

If there is a change, pull the fuel pickup line from the tank to be sure that the screen is clear and check the anti-siphon valve. The anti-siphon valve is in the outgoing fuel line connection at the top of the fuel tank.

Be aware that many primer bulbs, especially inexpensive aftermarket ones, have defective valves that can restrict the flow and can cause the bulb to collapse when running.
