I had to fix my pivot pin, so I pulled the lower unit for everything back together. My question is when I put the boat into reverse the prop spins to the right, is this correct? Now if I spin it to the left it makes a clicking noise. Sound normal? If it's in Foward prop spins to the right? Doesn't sound right to me.....shift linkage need adjusting?

Thanks

Sorry if I do not understand you, but if you put the gearcase in forward (the shiftrod moves down) the prop should turn cw looking at the prop from behind the engine.
Putting the gearcase in reverse the prop should turn ccw.
The clicking sound when spining the prop in opposite way is because the doggs in the gear which the clutch engage is slanted.
This makes the shifting smoother and easier for the clutch to engage the doggs.
