Wellcraft cut back its production to fishing boats around '01. They will still sell you a 30' center console fish boat with big outboards.

this boat I'm looking at is a regular performance boat not a performance fishing boat.

this is one with a closed bow, through the hull exhaust etc...

doesn't look like they make those kind anymore..

I don't think they make those boats anymore. Heck, they don't even make bowriders. They've concentrated on pure fishing now.

Wellcraft used to make cruisers, fishing boats, offshore boats, etc... Now they pretty much stick to the mid sized fishing boats.

Does anyone know the last year they made the Excalibur? I believe that was their last offshore style performance boat, and I believe it was early 2000s when they stopped making them. Possibly 2001 like Kelly said.

2002 was the last year for the Excalibur and all of the other non-fishy boats.:(

If you got to http://www.wellcraft.com and click "owners" then "product info guides" you can find the model spec sheets all the way back to 1985.

If I get my way, my next boat will be a 1989 Scarab Panther. :D Of course the wife wants a cruiser so I'll probably wind up with a mid-90's Martinique instead.

how can you say well craft no longer makes performance crafts. they now make a drive around portable ice fishing house. it floats if it falls through and will do 10mph across the ice. try that with a 30ft Panther.
but all that aside i would rather see them do what ever they need to to survive than disappear.

A Fountain is a Fountain. A Scarab is (was) a Wellcraft. They are two different animals. And the fountains will pretty much blow most others away.

Baja'a are now Fountains too.

And Velocity's are faster than Fountains.
