Alright everyone here we go. I have "87" 3.0 cobra with new lower shift cable and has be adjusted using OMC shift adjustment tools (plate and shift cable jig). So went out this AM and while at WOT the engine reved high. I slowed the engine down a bit and was not able to reach WOT. Took it easy the rest of the AM, we were chasing the big one! :O) So is this clutch dog or spun prop. Is there more of a repair if I wait for the dog to fail? I have a service manual and would like any tips from anyone has replaced theirs. Thanks in advance.

I doubt its the dog clutch. You wouldn't be able to go at all and/or it would be making a lot of noise.
