Gentlemen, can I get your opinions on this donor boat?

http://norfolk.craigslist.org/boa/1931743698.html

It has a 120 HP which is my max rating. He checked compression, 145 on 3 cyl and 140 on 1. I could get galvanized trailer, GPS, Radio, Fish Finder, Steering, Motor, 35 gal alum tank. All for $600. I paid that for my SS but it seems a pretty good way to get a 'package"
Its a 2 hr trip for me which I will do if y'all think it's worth it. He said he could run the motor for me too.
now where is my compression guage?

I'd say its a good deal if you break out all the extra items you'll get. What is your plans for that hull? Give it away? Sawzall and pay to take it to the dump? Sell it?...

Talk him down to $500 and you'll have a sreaming deal. Those extras will be nice for your boat.

No plans for the boat. Maybe put it on my other trailer and sell it..2 or 3 hundred?

When I first started reading and saw 120HP I figured we were talking about an I/O. Then I looked at the ad! That's a great deal for that package. Great motor and the trailer looks decent. Actually Manatees are very good, solid boats and would be well worth someone rebuilding. I wouldn't cut it up.

Well I thought it was a good deal, but it seems I'm a little slow (did I say that?) All is well, I spent time working on the boat anyway and made progress. Plenty 'o time for the engine and such later.
