Hello All,
Just purchased a 2005 Cobalt 263 with the 8.1 Volvo GI-FF with SN4012152827 and Volvo DPSOutdrive SN4202142350. The trim gauge didn't work when I bought the boat and the dealership "tested" and said it was a bad gauge. I replaced the gauge and it still doesn't work. The gauge does not do anything and reads all the way down and doesn't move or jump or react ever. Needless to say I think it might be a sending unit or? How to test continuity or see if it's the sending unit or something else?

The gauge was only $25 so I'm not out huge money but I'd rather not replace unnecessary parts and just get it working.

HELP!

About a 99% chance the sender is bad.
I put together this info from several sourced, but should help you get it tested, repaired and working again.
The test and adjustment procedures are on the last page.
