as always GG, the truth lies somewhere in the middle<br />IMHO. the left and the right equally take too much<br />credit for victories and not enough responsibility<br />for defeats. sort of the nature of the beast...<br /><br />for perspective purposes:<br />prez. licoln had union troops shut down newspapers<br />that were printing negative stories about the civil<br />war.<br />history has since shown that keeping this great<br />country united (at ANY cost) was dang worth it.<br />MY think history will look at our current sit with<br />the same view one day.

You tripped and fell right on that there sword,J. :D :D :D <br /><br />I disagree about the truth being in the middle.There aint but one truth, and one BS.<br /> I believe people that have been lied to for 44years are begining to see the aftermath of those stories. And yet,instead of REPORTING the truth, our media continues to "pick a side", and cater to it, by perpetuating spin. What the post is , resembles that media-type spin, based squarely on facts.<br />But it was a good read, and should serve well to wake some brain dead types up to how they have been (and still are) missled.

Two things, <br /><br />Mass graves were found in Serbia, ethnic cleansing was prevelant under Milosevic.<br /><br />Lincoln actually imprissoned the Maryland legislature bacause they were going to join the Confederacy. That would have meant that DC would be completely surrounded!

with all due respect 12footer, the elephants are<br />way too far right and the donkeys are way too far<br />left IMHO. most folks are somewhere in the middle<br />I think. MY proof: folks generally elect donkeys<br />locally, but like elephants in fed. positions.<br />these are the same voters...<br />SW, never knew that, but drives home my point ;)

Well,sure, MY....In a way, that's true.<br />Not to derail this thread, but the pendulum of political ideology has less to do with the direction of the country than does corrupt polititians. We have some of them promising donkeys better roads, free pills, medical care and housing, and we have others prommising elephants won't have to pay for all that.<br />But the wheels of government in the direction of least resistance and special interests . And it will come crashing-down as Rome did, unless coruption is no longer tolerated. And that is up to us.
