I boat another bass boat and it has great compression , and runs good after getting to clear out . Here is what it is doing and what I have !!! It is 1993 130hp Yamaha !!! when I go to take off it loads up and then clears out and takes of like a raped ape. The throttle seems to be a little delayed Oh and motor has been sitting since last October . So I put new NGK plugs and that made motor run alot better but didn't help the take ( and it makes it hard to trailer) oh yeah and I checked compression ( Has 135lbs on all 4 cylinders well at least all cylinders within 4 lbs of each other So I know thats good) Motor is very low hours according to hour meter less than 80 hours so I know it has been set up for peroids of time . But I was going to clean carbs , replace fuel lines , And I want to put a hot foot in boat but want to correct this little roblem first.
ANY THOUGHTS???????????????????????????

80 hrs on a 1993 motor, hard to believe.
Clean carbs and make sure it is not over propped

Boat and Motor looks brand new and has been garage stored . So I have to believe what I see . I am going to clean carbs in morning . But don't know what pitch prop that it is needs to be???

What does the tach read at wide open throttle with what you consider an "average" load. That is what tells you whether or not you need to change props. Go to the Prop forum and read the READ THIS FIRST sticky at the top of the forum.

If indeed it was sitting that long you probably have to at least start with cleaning the carbs. I have just gone through a problem were the motor would not idle and I took the carbs apart and they were completely clogged with a varnish like substance and once I got that stuff out, the motor is extremely smooth and runs great.
