Schools became moral and ethical learning centers when parents refused to take on that responsibility.

Agreed.

There are many that will fight that fact, to their death.

And the beat goes on...

Group: Explicit gay sex flier passed out at school
By Laura Crimaldi and O’Ryan Johnson
Wednesday, May 18, 2005

An anti-gay marriage activist group claims a graphic safe-sex guide for adult gay men was distributed to students at Brookline High School last month.

Sean Haley of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, which sponsored the April 30 event, denied the claim. The allegations are simply lies,'' he said. We assign monitors to every workshop and event to assure that all policies are strictly enforced. No such material from AAC (Aids Action Committee, which produced the booklet) or anyone else were ever present.''

The booklet, Little Black Book: V 2. Quee.r in the 21st Century,'' which includes graphic instructions on how to safely perform gay sex acts, was described as vile and disgusting'' by Brian Camenker of the anti-gay marriage Article 8 Alliance, which claims it was given to students.

Sally Turner, a retired Carlisle mother, said she picked up the booklet at a table at Brookline High School set up by Fenway Community Health. I was quite horrified they were promoting homosexuality all the way down to the youngest grades,'' she said. Fenway Community Health officials could not be reached.

Brookline Superintendent William H. Lupini said GLSEN rented the high school for the event.

We're going to investigate it,'' said Lupini, who said he has been assured the claim is false. If it happened, it's going to mean a lot of things for us. . . . We'll have to take appropriate steps in terms of safeguarding our facility.''

The booklet thanks the state Department of Public Health as a supporter. But Gov. Mitt Romney said yesterday the state did not fund the booklet, and denounced graphic pornographic material on the gay lifestyle'' in schools.

Meanwhile, AAC director Rebecca Haag said, This is a very targeted publication for gay men over 18 and it should not be misused. However, it is a very effective public health tool for preventing HIV and AIDS. . . . We never use sexually explicit materials (in the schools.)''

http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=83610&format=text

Re: Don't Kid Around in the Classroom

Ok...kinda confused here.

NOSLEEP - you posted links to a website that has it's foundation on the BELIEF that homosexuality is a mental disorder and can be "cured" with the right "treatment" to support your views?

QUOTE FROM NARTH Position Statements:
**************
"We believe that clients have the right to claim a gay identity, or to diminish their homosexuality and to develop their heterosexual potential.

The right to seek therapy to change one's sexual adaptation should be considered self-evident and inalienable"
**************

Does an organization with those views hold any credibility in an educated, modern society? Maybe if I throw on some white sheets and beat the crap outta homosexuals they will get better and see the error of their ways.

I agree that the material presented to elementery school age kids was not appropriate. I disagree with the "gays are trying to brainwash and recruit our kids into their sick lifestyle" point of view.

As parents it is our choice as to how our children see the world. If you are not asking your child DAILY what they did in school and what they learned...shame on you. If they are taught something (From a teacher or a classmate) that you have issues with...you need to discuss it with them and give them your viewpoint.

End of my rant...
-JustMrWill

JustMrWill... I only posted that site because some
of their views were similar to mine.
Personally I dont believe that every homosexual is
mentally or hormonally different. There is without
question males and females trapped in the wrong
body and were born the wrong gender, but they are the
minority in the gay community.

You may think these people are uneducated and not
credible in todays society, but I dont think that
they will be beating the crap out of any homosexuals
any time soon.

You may not of noticed but the Doctor giving the
lecture on the "Born that way theory" is a gay
man himself.

Center apologizes for sex-booklet snafu
By Franci Richardson
Thursday, May 19, 2005 - Updated: 04:18 AM EST

The Fenway Community Health Center yesterday acknowledged its mistake in displaying a graphic safe-sex booklet for homosexuals at an event attended by middle- and high-schoolers at Brookline High.

Fenway Community Health regrets accidentally making available a small number of copies of the Little Black Book,' an HIV prevention publication for gay and bisexual men over the age of 18, at an event where young people were present,'' said Dr. Stephen Boswell, Fenway's president and CEO.

The superintendent of Brookline schools had asked the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educational Network to follow policy banning the distribution of such material at the April 30 event.

We thought we had laid out what were reasonable ground rules and that they weren't followed,'' Superintendent William Lupini said.

The Fenway employee in charge of the booth at the event did not realize the brochures, which depict gay sex practices, were on the table, Boswell said.
