I am buying a 2001 NItro 700LX from a bank repo. THe fish finder is missing but everything else is there. It was a Hummingbird it came equiped with it from the factory. Can anyone tell by looking at the connection what model Hummingbird fits this?

It appears to be a fairly standard Humminbird connection. It looks like it would fit a wide variety of models. I believe whatever depth finder you buy will come with its own mount. If I were you I would try to make sure that what you buy can use the transducer that is already installed on the boat.

Have to agree here. Already mounted and transducer run, I would fit a new one to that. Looks like a 500 series may fit, but definitely not the 700 series as they are a couple inches wider.

Looks like it originaly came with a Hummingbird Pro 128DX Dual Beam LCR anyone know what will take its place since I can't find this model anywhere? I tried callling Hummingbird direct 4 times.

1st time hung up after 45 minutes on hold
2nd time 1 hour 12 minutes
3dr 1 hour 29 minutes
4th so far been on hold 2hours 11 minutes

I have never seen such poor customer service in my life

While that tilt/swivel station can be used with any 300, 500, or 700 series HB, it requires a connector block change. Where your 2 prong transducer cable comes in is now used for gps and other serial data. The physical size/shape of the connector is different too. All current models have the tranducer come in on that large connector spot that is not used on your model.

I don't think it is worth reusing that transducer. It will require a 2 to 5 transducer cable ($25) and a connector block/hanger ($7) to even try to use an unknown condition transducer. I am not sure if it is 100% compatable (I didn't check the frequencies), but that doesn't mean it won't display any data.

If you purchased a new 300, 500, or 700 series, I'd say mount it at your helm and use what you have, along with the parts I mentioned, (might need a new transducer) for a second station, such as a trolling motor.

I would buy what you want and are comfortable using and re-wire accordingly.

Trying to match 9 year old wiring to a new equipment can be very frustrating and you may not like what your forced to purchase.
