I have a 1967 johnson 60hp v4. I just rebelt the carb and the fuel pump and new gas lines. new fuel tanks. The last few times i have taken it out if i go slow and go to pick up speed i will put the throtel to full and it wont bog down but it goes 5 miles an hour and slowly picks up to full speed. Also very hard starting. It has fixed high speed jets.

Sounds similar to what my 75hp v4 is doing. Mine starts easy though but takes forever to get up to speed. Is your motor burning excessive amounts of gas?

Sounds like lync and sync issues... these have to move at right time. Throttle and timing advance has to be precise. Look at lync and sync... Do a search for correct instructions. Or maybe someone like joe Reeves will come along and paste them...
