Has anyone else noticed that if you reverse the seals under the water pump.
I.E. (cup to cup) fill the pocket with grease, it works better than seal face to face. Where freezing comes into play?
I have noticed freezing water breaks the top seal, then the lower unit fills with water the next year of use.
I replaced my dad's 90hp Yamaha seals, and reversed them 20 years ago.and it hasn't leaked since.
The reason I ask is my 2000 30hp is filling the lower unit with water, should I replace the seals under the water pump face to face (as factory), or cup to cup?
