Hello all!
I?m trying to remove a suspension fork from the intermediate housing. But cant really figure out how to get it moving. I tried to use a really long deck bolt, a washer and a spacer that would pull the shaft out when tightened, but was afraid to use too much force. I dont want to end up with a 2 piece suspension fork.

The manual tells you to use special tools but since I dont have those I dont know how to proceed. Should I have a press to achieve this? I was hoping to separate the fork from the intermediate housing for an easier paint job. Maybe I try some penetration fluid and heat next.

Re: DP-A Suspension fork removal

I've always set them on the edge of the bench and used a hammer and the tool to drive the tube down and out of the housing.
The bottom of the tube is sitting in a bearing in the fork, so the tube shouldn't be binding in the bottom of the fork, or the upper bushing.
