Dp-sm nyloc outdrive nuts

The part number is 3853329 for the 6 nyloc nuts for the outdrive. The original have a flange. Sierras part number is 18-3730 and do not have a flange. Are these OK to use? I can find these at Menards.
Also zinc or stainless?

order the correct nuts. Menards does not carry 316 stainless fasteners. they carry the lower grade 18-8

Ayuh,..... Donno 'bout Volvo, but Merc drive nuts are Not ssteel everybody thinks they are,.....

They're chrome plated Brass, fine thread,...... Tough to find, other than from Merc,......

Ssteel nuts tend to gall badly if the nut isn't oiled, brass is quite the opposite,.....

I'd Guess Volvo does the same,..... I'd use a washer, without the shouldered nuts, myself,.....
