Splashed the boat for the first time this past weekend. Unfortunately I have a whining pitch when I put in gear. In neutral no noise, even when reved up.Gear shifting is smooth. The noise crescendo's as the speed increases and eventually is overcome by the engine noise. Reluctantly I ran it up to about 3500 rpm's and it seemed to preform ok, just noisy.
Now a little history, As a result of a bad shift seal, I got water in the unit last year. Seal replaced and tested, all good. New oil added. Also replaced U joint shaft assembly this winter. Gimble bearing only two years old. Any suggestions on what might be causing this annoying problem?
