Drain plug for rotomolded hull?

For anyone with experience with rotationally molded hulls, what is the best way to install an underwater drain plug (for draining on trailer)? Which material, metal or plastic, is best?

if its a single layer hull, any of the PWC or kayak drain plugs may work. if its a 2-layer hull, dont do it.
