I have a 1994 Four Winns 215 sundowner and it has a leak at the drain plug garboard. Can someone tell me if it is easy to replace and how to go about it.

When I first bought the boat the drain plug was leaking around the edges. I ended up taking it off, wiping completely dry, removing the previous silicon, and sealing it with JB weld marine epoxy.

If it's leaking around the edges that means water has penetrated to the interior of the transom. You need to core sample the transom from the inside to determine it's condition. I'm sorry to say, you will probably find that it will need to be replace.
Silicone has NO place for boat repairs.

As stated this is a good indicaton that the transom wood HAS been compromised. Core sample the transom!!!;)

If it's been leaking due to the use of silicone, I'd highly recommend core sampling the transom. Are the screw holes wet?
3M-4200 is recommended.
