I recently bought a 1980's model (don't have title yet, waiting on paperwork) starcraft 19footer with a 140hp i/o mercruiser.

boat looks like it was in a time capsule, guy took really good care of his stuff. came with a brand new never started merc 9.9 4 stroke kicker motor with manual and the boat itself has 28 original hours!!!

bad news is when the older gentlemen was getting the boat ready for the winter he pulled the drain plugs out of the exhaust manifold and the engine block. the family does not know where he put them, they aren't in the boat.

local marinas only carry 1/4 inch size, looks like one is about 1/4 and one is about 1/8.

anybody able to tell me what size for sure i need?

there is normally about 3 drains.one on engine block and exhaust elbow which are the same and have normally a butterfly on them so they can be drained by hand.the one under the manifold is smaller and can be released with a spanner.could try looking on www.mercruiserparts.com for drawings and part nos.all i found on that was the 1/8th 27 for the under manifold one and only a drawing of the others and their part nos.
