drain plug question

I tried some drain plugs and they dont fit what size do you guys suggest that would fit this hole?

By the way, you better replace that screw with sealant or it will allow water intrusion into your transom if it hasn't already occurred.

no it hasn't boat hasn't seen water since I've had to been replacing parts like crazy.... and 1/2 you say ok thats next on my list

but isnt a 1/2 to small I just tested a bolt thats 7/8 and it kind of screws in but didnt go in all the way.

!/2" pipe is 1/2" on the inside. The outside where the thread is, is almost 3/4". So looks like 1/2" PIPE is the size you need.

My local WalMart sells a two pack of Marine Brass Garboard Plugs. Like someone posted above, it looks like you need a 1/2" NPT which would measure 0.840" (OD of male threads).

by golly it was 1/2 does it have to screw all the way in? I screwed it in and it screwed half way in not all the way is that safe?

Yep...that's fine. I would use a brass one. You can get them at Lowes or HD.
