I'm replacing my gear oil tomorrow in preparation for my first trip out this weekend and I overlooked ordering replacement washers for my drain and fill screws. I live in a rural area without any marine dealerships. Can anyone tell me what material these washers are made out of? If possible i'd like to be able to run to the hardware store and pick some up. The part number of what i need is 0311598 but i cant find any specs that say what material it is. Motor is a '94 60 HP. Thanks.

These washers can be re-used if they have not been overtighted and squished.

I just picked up four on the way home today.

They’re nylon. Guessing 0.060 to 0.070 inches thick

I found hardware nylon washers to be somewhat stiffer texture compared to marine eqpt. making it harder to " crush" down and seal properly . they are ok for emergency fixes and I add a couple of wraps of heavier teflon tape (yellow kind) to help seal the threads themselves.

maybe it is paranoia...

its paranoia....lol
Nylon washers are OEM Evinrude. It’s all about the type (durometet) of the nylon used

I used some teflon round stock (high quality) to make some one time, got factory washers now.
