I was told not to install the drain plugs from the outside of the transome, but I have no choice because one plug goes under the floor with no access from the inside, and the other is above the floor, but so close to the floor that you can't get your hand around the T handle to tighten it.

Should I worry about these plugs falling out while on the water?

Thanks,
Mark

Put 'em on the outside...if you are worried they will fall out tie a string to 'em so you won't lose 'em...I havn't lost one yet...just a Thought

Put it in from the outside and attach some fishing line to the plug and push it through the drain hole first. Now either tie it to something or tie it to a screwdriver or something that cant be pulled through the hole.Charlie

Haven't lost one in over 40 years of boating so I guess the answer to your question would be "no". :)

Just tighten it good and pull on it. You'll see it will not come out. I leave my boat in the water all season, hasn't had one fall out yet. Also, the pressure against it helps as well. You install it from the inside, you have that pressure trying to push it into the boat, not good...Besides, you lose the drain plug, you will have more problems that just losing a drain plug.. :D
