Potoose, move to Long Island, the union electricians who maintain our traffic signal system have an hourly wage plus medical/sick/vacation/anuity etc. benefits package totalling $76 an hour, thats straight time. Sounds great, but, the downside is the housing costs, the median house price as of this week in Suffolk County is $278,000.00 and figure about 6-8 thousand or more for property taxes, and I'm not kidding. They don't call NY the land of taxes for nothing. The county cops make over a hundred grand a year. On the positive side the Auto Barn car parts store chain is offering $11 to deliver parts, on LI with that wage you will be living in your car. It's gone nuts,,,,,<br />

Potoose... Depends on what you can do, and where you are in the USA..<br /><br />In my area.... Bottom of the line, little experience, boat yard grunt, around $10/hr to start... Do whats asked of you, show up on time, $12 in a few months...
