I want to mount a soap dispenser under the bathroom counter. Is it safe to simply drill a hole in the counter top? I have the necessary clearance underneath.IMAG0247.jpg

Maybe easier to just buy a small squirt bottle of hand soap to go on top of counter?

+1. I'd think that weather changes/heat is gonna make that soap gooey or hard, making it difficult to empty or clean the container. IMO, easier to use the portable stuff and chuck it if gets ugly.

Yes, you can drill a hole in it for a soap dispenser.

We had granite installed in the kithen and had one installed.
They used a diamond hole saw that connects on the end of your drill.
Very simple to do.

Re: Drill a hole in my counter?

I have a great deal of experiance in this feild ,yes you can certanilly drill a hole you need a hole saw with a pilot bit of the propper size the standard size is 1 3/8 for fixtures although as soap dispenser go they are not always standard they are usually about 7/8 to 1 inch , just rember a hole will likly b there for ever i think it is an excelent idea as this type of dispenser not only looks nice it will not fall off when you bare down on the throttle or hit some rough water ,and as far as cleaning it all you have to do is pull the pump body out the top and fill or clean it if the bottle gets dirty or cruddy under neath you simply unscrew the bottle from underneath the fixture will stay in the counter,ps it appears that your counter is corian or some oyher type brand of sollid surface , if it happens to be real granite or marble you will need a diamond bit and per haps it would be cheaper to have a counter top installer drill it than buying diamond bit only to use it once ,when i ran a granite shop several years a go i would have drilled it for $25 if i didnt have to travel to far . The other is a diy deal just try to be clean about it ,hope this helps ,
