Drive oil leak at prop

4.3L V6 mercruiser with alpha one leg. Losing drive oil out from the lower leg prop shaft area. Oil is blue with no signs of water. New to boating and am not sure what seal has gone.

Pull the prop & look...
Is it coming right off the prop shaft or out of the surrounding area?....

i am in the same boat as this guy and dont know much about fixing there is oil leaking coming from the shaft also the shaft has about 1/8" of play going in and out is that normal? here is a exploded view is # 83 left or right hand thread? do i even need to be taking it off? thanks http://www.selocmarine.com/retail_counterman/xview.php?Figure=MCALP90e13

nevermind found the mark that says off on that one piece just trying to figure out how to get to the bearing and seal now.

The shop has mine apart now. They say that the thrust hub was seized and scored the shaft a bit. They think they can re set the seals slightly deeper on the shaft to avoid the damaged area which would avoid replacing the shaft etc. Hope it works, much cheaper fix. Then decide to sell or upgrade the boat. The mechanic indicated that the repair could last quite some time?? I hope that's the case.
