drive pin props, hubs can't be repaired?

I have a 1970 25 hp evinrude that I think has a spun hub... last time I dropped a prop off at the local prop guy, he said that he doesn't try and fix spun hubs on drive pin style props because too often they continue to slip after the "repair"... anyone else heard of this?

The props new aren't all that much more expensive than getting one rehubbed either. I've not run into the slipping problem on rehubbed ones, mostly because the small cost saving isn't usually worth having it done.
