I have a 2000 5.7 mercruiser on a VIP that all of a sudden will not go into gear. We ran out of gas, filled it up and started it with the throttle only button in, and it runs just fine. When you pull it back to disengage the throttle only and go into drive (or reverse) the handle will not move forward or back. It had been working just fine and this just happened after we started it back up. Any ideas. Would the cable have just frozen up and gone bad? The boat only has 30 hours on it? <br />Thanks for any input.
