Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any boat-through restaurants/fast food joints that you actually don't have to get out of the boat for (kind of like a drive-thru for boats). Preferably in the Texas/Gulf area, but also anywhere else in the nation.

Thanks...
J

Welcome Jennyzump,
Sounds like a good idea in theory but in reality I don't think it would work very well.Did you ever watch people try to stop their boats at the docks? I think the pay window would be a good place to dive for change though.

Hi, Jenny.

Back in the early 80s we used to get dockside service at several Ft. Lauderdale establishments.

My favorite was the (then) famous Southport Raw Bar. If you flew a sailfish release flag from your riggers when you came in Port Everglades the first icy draft beer was free. MMMMM!! I still can taste the steamed, spiced shrimp and the great "homemade" chili.

It was a perfect way to end a day in the Gulfstream.

There is the Barking Crab on boston horbor, its not a drive threw but there is a dock that welcomes all. Good place for a fast burger, but not much more then that. Anyone around Boston knows the place, it was in the news a while back.

Only prolbem is I'm there around noon and I still have to walk around the drunk salts laying on the dock passed out from the night before.
There is one guy who I give a ride on my back and put him back in his boat, and that boat of his has not left the slip in three years!!

Now just add a portable head that would lower down into your boat, and you could be a millionare real quick.

I live on the Texas/Gulf Coast not far from Houston. I don't know of any on the coast itself. There are a number of them on the Intracoastal Waterway. Clear Lake just south of Houston, has tons of restaurants that you can drive up, park your boat and eat. Its a novel idea to have a boat drive-thru restaurant, it'd be more fun than watching the crazy antics at boat launchs. :)

We have an "Ice-Cream Boat" that patrols the fishing areas near the Fire Island Inlet.

No drive throughs for boats here but several ones you can dock up to and go in or eat on the dock. There are even several on the lake where you dock or pull up on the beach and walk up to. I don't think a fast food drive through concept would work well with a boat but perhaps a dock with bikini clad waitresses taking your order and bringing it to your boat would be good.
