Hi pros,

Can someone give me an idea what could have cause the drop after making a sharp turn two week ago after the water started to get choppy (14 foot BW),
I've hussle a tow back to the doc. I've changed the spark plug and chankcase oil which needed changing.. Took it out today and still at 5mph.. also have my trolling motor now..

thank:)

It's a E30ECDM 1986 Johnson Evinrude 30HP. Which I had for a little under a year..

By chankcase oil do you mean your lower unit? And were your revs still high when it dropped down?

If your revs were still high but you weren't moving; sounds like you could have spun the hub on your prop.

I think you would be best served with a factory service manual you can purchase them on iboats get the factory service, not owners, manual and not a clymer or seloc the fsm will have troubleshooting steps you can take and detailed instructions for your motor.

How many rpm's would you guess the mtr is turning? Is it screaming or just loping along?

Prop slipping:
1. Mark inner and outer hubs with indelible marker
2. Run boat to planning speed
3. Compare marks ? if they?ve moved relative to each other, hub is slipping
4. Remove prop
5. Take it to a propeller shop and have it rehubbed

Bad prop hub or splines someplace that haven't quite given up yet.
