I totally submerged my 1952 5 hp Scott Atwater on the weekend
(portaged into a lake with a canoe). It was running pretty much
wide open when it went in. I pulled the carb and intake plate.
Rinsed out the tank, crank housing with mixed gas. Lots of
pulls and it runs BUT...

It won't open up and get full throttle any more. It will idle
or get medium speed when under load. It will rev up good when
out of the water. Also will not idle under half throttle
(stalls), needs lots of choke to start it.

I just had this running after storage for lots of years.

Excellent motor...got me home and finished the fishing trip.
Never caught so many Walleye in my life.

Any help on what may be giving me grief with the lack of power?

Neal in Canada.
