Hmmm. how do I do this long-distance?<br />Oh well, I'll try.<br />The drum has right and left 'spools', divided (like two reeels welded together, one for each direction).<br />(1)You want to turn the engine all the way in one direction.<br />It can be iether way,but let's use full right turn.<br />2On the drum, the cable that end that hooks to the right side on the engine, should be empty,or dang-niegh empty.<br /><br />3The left side of the drum should be wound with enough cable,that when the helm is brouight over to full right, it is empty,or dang-niegh empty.<br />I know, it does get confusing, but keep in mind this one thing to help you visualise how it all werks..."The back of the engine is facing the way the boat is turning".<br />I hope this helps.
