So, I have a 16' Silverking flats boat with a tow master trailer which is setup for a much bigger boat. I have to dunk the trailer over the fenders to launch and retrieve the boat.* I would like a setup like this one: http://saltyshores.com/wordpress/tag/ramlin/ Is it possible to do that with my trailer? It is a torsion bar and here are some pics. Thanks!

Re: Dry launch help!!!

you should be able to drop your boat a few inches on the trailer by changing your bunks.

however dropping the trailer in until the fenders are under water is the norm.

It looks like you are already set to go.
Just back it in a little and slide it off the bunks with a manly shove.

???
I do not see anything supporting the bow except for the bow roller under the rub rail.
This might be OK as long as all the weight is on the bunks.

Re: Dry launch help!!!

the link you posted (finally!) shows the correct way to use a trailer in salt water for that size boat. Axles dry.

usually you have larger tires than you do so you can get a little deeper and keep the axle dry.

Rollers work best but skids on the bunks are a good substitute. A combination of short bunks and rollers is good, too.

You mount the rollers/bunks as low as possible to help with retrieve.

As the link says, with a power winch, you can drag the boat up on the trailer dry, even across the mud at low tide if you must.

"fenders under water" may be the norm in fresh water, but it never was in salt until the sales people convinced people new to boating to use a "drive-on."
