DSC Signals

Three out of the last 5 times I've been out, I've gotten DSC signals with no information. The VHF starts beeping, and when I look, there's all zeros as the information (mmsi, lat/long, etc.). Is this an unregistered VHF pressing the button, or is it something else? There's no chatter on the radio about it, and after I press a button (any button), it clears, and everything is back to normal. Just wondering if any of you have encountered this as well?

Did you program your MMSI number into your unit?

Some radios will alarm to remind you to program your data into the memory...

Yeah, I'm good to go...

General consensus is that it's unprogrammed units being set off.

Well, I guess someone is testing their "anonymous" DSC radio. Although I did not think that was possible, without programming the MMSi....
