Hi,I'm trying to sort out my outboard and it runs good at idle but it still has a problem that baffles me- as I push the throttle on it sometimes dies as if it was trying to get over a certain spot,I have checked the cables,it has new diaphragm set, impeller pumps water ok,thermostat seems to be working (put my hand under the telltale and it runs cool then warm then cool -I may be wrong but this seemed to be the thermostat working-trapping water then opening up and expellling the warmer water, drawing in new to cool) oil pump works good -today I have backed off the sprung adjuster bolts on the carbs getting clean petrol from the top two but nothing from the bottom carb, surely this should weep petrol unless it is blocked could this be the problem? I have been putting off opening up the carbs as I have never done this before, although I'm fairly handy with the tools.would anyone recommend opening up?

Yep it sounds like you need to rebuild your carbs for a change, the suzuki mukuni carbs are very sensitive and responds very quickly to dirt in them, if you are handy with tools then you should be ok at doing it yourself, just remember where everything goes, and remember to put the same carbs where they were before you took them off .... soak in carb cleaner for 24 hours and then clean with compressed air .... good luck
