dt 85 gas guzzler

Hi everyone....I have a mid 80s dt85 that i myself did a power head rebuild 2 years ago.New pistons ,head shaved ,i scraped the oil injection and use pre mix. The motors on my 17 foot sea nymph...This motor runs great for the most part but boy it sucks the fuel.Im lucky if i get 1 mile to a gal...Does this soundabout right to everyone?????

Check: Yamaha Outboard Performance Bulletins for MPH, GPH, MPG for your motor/boat combination. You should be getting around 5 miles per gallon, give or take. Is your fuel pump O.K.?...maybe bad diaphragm causing excess raw fuel getting sucked into that cylinder causing rich mixture, burning more fuel? Good Luck!
