Re: dt140 not running at wot

First have you tried checking at that fuel quick attach fitting at the front of the motor were theu fuel line connects to? Check the "O" ring seals inside. They harden or tear after many years. And even the fitting will wear out over time. A simple replace would be to but a barb/barb fitting and eliminate the fitting.
Second, if your're sure the tach is the actual rpms and the engine is not over reving, check your fuel filter, gas condition, fuel pump diaphram, and any fuel lines that amy have a small pin hole....even the lines from or atthe fuel tank. Replace that bulb, it could be the cause also and a likely culprit.

After all that is confirmed to be ok then I would suggest you should really consider other problems...such as carbs, ignition etc. and adjustments.

The chirping sounds like an alarm, and you should have a light indication on the multi-function gage. Figure out what alarm and you'llm know where to look ...

changed the bulb, took the boat out again today and still have the same problem did notice that when the chirping started it is the oil light that is coming on, the rev limit light then comes on and thats when the motor bogs out. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

well there you go, you are not getting enough oil through when running WOT, I doubt the oil flow sensor is bad otherwise it would keep the motor in limb mode ..... but you can replace it anyway to be 100% sure .... it is always a good idea to keep the oil reservoir filled to the top ... also check all the pipes etc. for the oil ...

There is a small oil filter/strainer located in between the main oil line. It is replaceable. Also make sure the oil in the bottom of the oil reservoir tank has not gel-up or has gotten thick overtime. It may be restricting oil flow too.
