Purchased an old Ranger with a DT150. Before winter this year I changed the lower unit oil. When I drained the old oil It looked milky (picture attached bottom of post). I changed the drain screws and gaskets and gear oil as part of my winterization and put the boat away for winter. Took the boat out for about 4 hours last week for the first time and after my trip I drained the lower unit oil again to see if it would be milky. At first a tiny amount of milky oil cam out, like a tea spoon and the rest looked pretty normal (see pic top of post).

My question is do you think I should be worried about a major seal leaking? Or do I maybe have a minor leak going on?

Should I just keep a eye on it and maybe change the oil a few times per season just to be safe?

Re: DT150 Water in lower unit

Best to pressure and vac test to be sure.
Replace lower unit seals next water pump change.
Good luck
