dt25c question?

Hello everyone I am a newbie, from louisiana I just got an 1998 suzuki dt25 outboard it had been sitting up for awhile, I cleaned the carbs and when I start it up it revs up really high then idles back down, is this normal on these engines. I don't have a tach on it so i don't know how high it is going up too. But, it seems fast to me.

And you have to choke it each time you start it even if it has just been ran.

My '91 DT25C has an automatic spark advance when first starting. Depends on the motor temp as to how long it runs at high idle. Sounds like its working as it should.
