Today I started my Suzuki DT40 (1986) after winter storage. It started fine but didn't pump water. At first I had the engine in a water barrel and then tried with the ear muff gizmo attached to the garden hose. It still wouldn't pump water and eventually the overheat buzzer sounded.
I figured it must be yet another impeller gone west (new impeller last season) so I pulled the gear housing off the check it out but for the impeller was in fine shape. Looked like it had been operating dry and no water had reached it at all.
Can anyone advise me on what's going on here?
Cheers
