DT85 85yr model seems to miss at idle

i have a miss it seems at idle i bought the motor earlier this yr and got it running after i cleanned out the carbs and changed the water pump (hasent run in 3 yrs) didnt have a service manual for jet adjustments and left be when cleaning carbs engine run strong all summer just has issue w/ hard starting after an hr of sitting i got a manual and found that air screws were open 2-1/2 turns instead of 1-1/2 or so re adjusted and seems to miss at idle sorta but somewhat clears w/ a slight rpm increasement not sure of the idle rpm goin to check but dosent seem to be to low to cause miss anything on the hard starting would be a help not sure if it was flooding but will start fine after inital start w/ in 10 min of cuttin it off anything after about 15-40 min and longer have to choke and idle up w/ lever to start not sure if old age is a factor or just a simple adjustment to fixx whole problem also new plugs when cleanned carbs / cleanned out fltr and changed fuel/water sept fltr as well before puttin in water to run

Matt, did you pull the jets out and clean them and the needle? There maybe a little dirt in there. When ever theres a miss are lack of power a compression check should be done if you haven't already. This just sounds like dirty carbs here though. You have a good motor there keep her going. Always add fuel additive like stabil or maybe seafoam. Good luck.
