What the 'ell is DTS

digital throttle and shift - all shifting and throttle is controlled by wire and servos mounted on the engine

used in conjuction with smartcraft so the op would need smarftcraft as well, and i believe the ecm needs dts software as well

the real question is why are the shifters so stiff?? have you done any troubleshooting??

Boat is like new. Common complaint with others as well. If you loosen up the shifter tension, the motors won't hold RPM. Yes I have smartcraft.

Re: DTS conversion

If you have smartcrart, you should be able to use the DTS. I't not going to cheap, I can tell you that.

Do you have a 10 or 14 pin harness connector?

Re: DTS conversion

DTS was an option for my year. Will have a look at the connector. I would do this install myself. How involved would it be if I did in fact have the bigger connector?

Re: DTS conversion

Below is a file on the 10 pin setup. The first part is an overview of a Mercruiser setup showing the parts on the engine you would need along with the basic parts up to the control
The last page of the file is just a wiring diagram from where the control plugs into the engine. Could be outboard or IO, or inboard, that part is the same. The engine parts are what is different.
