I have been using a Eagle that operates at 192KHz, I got a Matrix 37 for Christmas that operates at 455/200/83 KHz. I would like to use eagle at bow when using the trolling motor but wonder if the frequenceis (sp?) 192/200 are to close. Would I be able to operate both at same time or do I need to turn one unit off. Thanks for advice in advance.
Michael

Re: dual depth finders

It depends on the length of your boat and how you mount your transducers. I know nothing about the Hummingbird but the Eagle 192 khz standard was a 20 degree transducer. A 20 degree transducer will show a circle about 1/3 the size of your depth. 30 feet deep you will see a 10 foot circle. If your stern transducer is the same and you are fishing 30 feet deep then transducers must be at least 20 feet apart.

I fish on a friends 19 foot bass boat a lot and he has one transducer glued in the stern of the hull and the other mounted on the trolling motor. We can run both fish finder with out problems out to 30 feet. Any deeper and they interefear with each other. Thing you can do is to angle the transducer on your trolling motor forward some but remember to display complete arches it must point straight down. For me when bass fishing and running the trolling motor I am not looking for fish anyway. I am looking for depth and structure only.

Thanks for input Boatist, I have 2 boats that I would like to use these units on. 1) 17' toon, 2) 15' Duracraft semi-Jon. The Humm.bird is on transom and Eagle on trolling motor.I have not mounted eagle on either yet but will soon.
