Dual Engines - Dual Power Steering Pumps?

I have a 2000 Wellcraft Martinique 3000 w/ dual Volvo 5.7 motors. My question is, should BOTH motors be running power steering pumps? How does that work?

On the starboard motor, the power steering pump is connected via hoses and belt.

On the port motor, the power steering pump is connected via hoses, but is missing the belt to drive the pump.

I just bought this boat and its my first "twin" engine boat, so trying to learn how this SHOULD be hooked up.

You only use one pump for both drives, your other one is a spare so to speak but most never need it. The pump could be removed
